I know that getting the edge in today’s world is hard.  Maybe you have a small business but have no web presence.  Maybe you do have one but you don’t like the look of it, it offers you no leads, it doesn’t show up on Google, etc. etc.  Maybe you have one but don’t know how to update it — and you don’t want to pay hundreds of dollars to the person who built it for you to change a word or two.

I can help you jump start your business with a professional WordPress-powered  site.  This is perfect for a small business or nonprofit to get up to the web with a limited budget.  Within few days you will get a basic WordPress install on your web site with a simple theme on it.  Then we will setup a time so I can train you on how to update it.  That way, you have the power to keep it updated — not me, not someone else.  You.  All this for just $500.

WordPress is free yet is very powerful.  Look at their example sites and you can see there are big name companies using it.  But the $500 site I would build for you would be more basic — well, a lot like this site because, well, it’s using WordPress too!  I would use  pretty much the same setup for this site that I would for your site.

Here are some questions you maybe asking yourself:

How can you charge $500 while others charge a lot more?  I’m experienced with WordPress and I have a basic setup that I have up and going in a short amount of time.  After that, it’s just finding a style that fits your needs, and teaching you how to update it.  If you want me to maintain it, or want more than the basic site, then I will charge an hourly fee after the initial $500 install.

I’m not technical!  How do you know I could update the site myself?  Once it’s up and going, making new pages and updating existing pages is a lot like writing a letter or article in Microsoft Word.  Although it’s all done in the browser, it doesn’t look like nor feel like a web page.

I looked around and WordPress is a blogging software. I don’t want to blog!  You don’t have to have a blog — it can shut that off. I know how to do that.  But what better way to keep in contact with your customers than to have a blog you update once in a while?  Whether or not you want the blog, it’s up to you, not me.

What is this about a web host?  Can you help me with that?  I personally am not in the business of web hosting,  I can recommend one for you.  I’ve had good look with BlueHost, who really have a great service for the price.  If you already have an existing site, chances are that hosting company can support WordPress.  Yes, it’s that popular!  Whatever the option is, you pay for the web host yourself — and then I will come and setup your new site.

I wanna sell stuff!  Can you help me with that?  I can, but that’s a completely different type of site. WordPress is to get information out there, not to sell things.   I can do that for you, but it’s not my Small Business Special.
